Experience the Courses

Carnoustie Country is home to over 30 golf courses in the east of Scotland. From challenging championship links courses which line the glorious Angus coastline, to the beautifully tranquil inland courses with their sweeping tree lined fairways and each surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful countryside, Carnoustie Country is rich with golfing possibilities. Play on courses designed by well-known golf course architects including James Braid, Willie Park Jr and Old Tom Morris.

Steeped in heritage, Carnoustie Country is home to Montrose 1562, the world’s 5th oldest golf course and Scotscraig, the 13th oldest golf course and is just a short drive from St Andrews, The Home of Golf. Or step a little further inland and experience the Old Tom Morris designed Forfar Golf Club, the world’s oldest 18 hole golf course since inception. Or why not try some of our more contemporary and accessible layouts, perfect for 9 holes or family groups.

Play over 30 courses within a 40 minute drive of Carnoustie Championship Links, host venue of The Open, eight times. First held at Carnoustie in 1931, the list of players to lift the Claret Jug at Carnoustie is impressive, including names such as Ben Hogan, Gary Player and Tom Watson.
